What is Mode?

The mode is the value that appears most often in a set of data.

Mode explained

It is the only one of the three common averages that works for categories as well as numbers: the most common product, country or ticket type.

A set can have more than one mode, or none if every value is different, so it is mainly useful for categorical data and for spotting the common case.

Example

If customers' most frequent order size is 2 items, 2 is the mode of items per order.
