Automated reporting

Stop rebuilding the weekly report.

If every Monday someone asks the data person to “pull these numbers again,” the report should run itself. SchemaChat turns the questions you ask into dashboards that stay live, snapshots that arrive by email, and alerts that tell you when a number moves.

How it works

  1. 1

    Ask once

Ask the question or say “build me a dashboard.” SchemaChat picks the measures and charts and shows the SQL for each.

  2. 2

    Keep it live

Dashboards re-query your data every time they are opened, so they never go stale.

  3. 3

    Let it come to you

Email a dashboard snapshot daily or weekly, and save any question as a watch that emails you when its number crosses a threshold.

What gets automated

  • Live dashboards that re-query on every view, with cross-filtering
  • Scheduled email snapshots of a dashboard, daily or weekly
  • Watches: save a question, set a threshold (above or below) and a daily or weekly check; you get an email when it trips
  • A digest of what changed since you last looked
  • Share links for people without a login (they expire after 30 days)
  • A REST API for sending numbers to other tools

Keeping automated numbers trustworthy

Each dashboard widget and watch is a saved query, so it runs the same way every time and you can open the SQL. If a metric needs a fixed definition — say what counts as “active customer” — define it once and every analysis uses it.

What it isn't

  • It doesn't produce pixel-perfect PDF board packs.
  • A report is only as good as the question and the data behind it — reconcile important numbers to your source of record.
  • Email delivery depends on your mail setup and inbox rules.

We would rather tell you now. Read the security page for what we do and don't have.

Frequently asked questions

Can the report reach people who don't have a login?
Yes, through share links. They are read-only and expire after 30 days.
How often can snapshots and watches run?
Daily or weekly.
Can I use a Google Sheet as the source?
Yes, a sheet shared by link works as a data source and can be refreshed in place without breaking dashboards built on it.
Can I trust the numbers?
Every dashboard widget is a saved query you can inspect. For anything that matters, reconcile to your system of record.
